Scott is Looking for a House to Rent

I’m a 37-year-old male with a very friendly, quiet-natured, house-trained dog named Rocko and a girlfriend named Maria who doesn’t currently live with me yet. (She doesn’t live in this country, but may visit at some point during the next 12 months, if/when the US grants her a visa.) For now, I travel to visit her in her home country of Kenya. I’m open to all options, but I like the idea of finding a house to live in with the right people that has a fenced-in backyard. It would be nice to have a place with a yard for my dog to run around in, and yours if you have one too. I have a gaming laptop and a high-end audio/video/animation workstation computer that I’m ok with making communal use of if that is of benefit to you. I realize not everyone has been fortunate enough to afford such things themselves. I just ask that you be respectful of what is mine and use with care. Game on it, create YouTube content, or just work on your studies. I don’t care. I also own a piano. I don’t smoke and I expect the same from roommates. I am ok with the rare 420, but never indoors. I’m relatively fit, so if we go with an apartment, I would like to find somewhere with a decent gym so that I don’t have to continue to spend money and time at Genesis. However, this isn’t a must–just a ‘nice to have’. I like to spend quality time with the people I live with—I think of the people I live with as a family unit—ya know… let’s all take a day trip somewhere fun just because we can. I cook and clean—I am somewhat of a neat freak (like an 8 out of 10 cleanliness)—I need to have a clean home to feel happy. Not super clean, but presentable in case we have unexpected company. Sometimes, I might have an off day, but I generally do my best to keep the place clean at all times. I try to be considerate about noise and ask the same from the people I live with. I’m generally a pretty quiet roommate but won’t fuss as long as sleeping hours are quiet. I am excellent at managing money (809 credit score). I am working on saving up 3 months of rent in case of unexpected job loss or unforeseen circumstances. I pay all of my bills early or on time. I’m willing to help you budget your finances, too, if that’s something you struggle with. It’s very important to me that OUR rent and bills are paid on time. When shopping for groceries, I prefer to stick to fresh produce and meats and keep sugary stuff to a minimum (although I do love chocolate!) That said, I prefer to shop for groceries as a household and split the cost of groceries evenly. (At least for the food we share.) Let’s cook and eat together, not do our own separate things all the time. I’m outdoorsy and enjoy hiking with others and taking the dog for walks. I like movies and enjoy serial-watching tv shows with my roomies. I also like to sing. Karaoke anyone? Glad you’ve made it this far. I encourage you to ask questions about the following part, because most people aren’t used to living with someone like me. I’m a social naturist (aka nudist), so non-sexual nudity will be a regular occurrence at home. I simply feel more comfortable in just my skin. I regularly participate in social naturism gatherings and I can provide positive character references if this concerns you. (This is the most important thing you need to know about me.) As indicated on my profile, I have successfully passed a criminal background check. So, here is why I prefer to live with female roommates… In the past, with me being naked at home, almost every male roommate I’ve had has made several unwanted sexual advances on me, even though some claimed they were straight when we first started living together. It’s a risk I don’t want to take anymore. Plus, I’m not into the whole bachelor-pad-style feng shui. Been there, done that. As for frequent visitors, I don’t care if you have a boyfriend, girlfriend, or a few friends with benefits. Just please don’t bring home new strangers every other night. I’m not comfortable with the idea of too many unknown people coming and going, as I own a lot of expensive things I don’t want going missing. Major plus if you are into board games and/or card games and would be into hosting game nights with friends—or simply just small cocktail parties would be fun too.
