My husband and I are looking for housing for three adults and one fixed indoor support cat. I am on AISH and also receive Calgary Housing rent assistance, so we do have steady support income.
We recently fell behind after needing to cover an unexpected tuition expense, and we are working to get everything stabilized.
Our truck is also currently unavailable, which has made transportation for viewings, appointments, groceries, and moving more difficult. Because of that, I wanted to ask if there may be any flexibility with viewing options, such as photos, a video walkthrough, or another arrangement if needed.
I also wanted to ask whether there may be any flexibility with the damage deposit and first month’s rent, such as a partial upfront payment, short grace period, or payment arrangement.
We fully understand the importance of rent and deposits, and we are not trying to avoid responsibility. We are just trying to secure stable housing while getting through a difficult transition.
